Chairperson of Dukhtaran-e-Millat, Syedah Aasiyeh Andrabi, on Thursday lashed out at Pakistani authorities for failing to play its role vis-à-vis the Kashmir issue as effectively as was expected of it*. “We observe January 5 as the day when the people of Jammu and Kashmir were guaranteed the right to determine their future in 1949 5th of January But why these resolutions are yet to be implemented. One of the reason, it seems, is that Pakistan isn’t fulfilling its responsibility as effectively as it had to with regard to the Kashmir issue,” Andrabi said in a statement. She said that Kashmiris refer to the ongoing movement as the movement for the completion of Pakistan. “We are struggle for the past 70 years with the understanding that Kashmir issue is an unfinished agenda of partition . So it is expected of Pakistan that it does more than what it is doing,” she said. “The people of Pakistan are with us wholeheartedly but it seems that the establishment as well as all political parties are not as passionate and interested.” She said that it is ironic that the leaders in Pakistan are busy in political fistfights and are fighting for petty gains. “ How unfortunate is that just for coming to the power, these leaders are ready to put the Kashmir issue into the back burner.” Flaying the Pakistan authorities for its weak foreign policy and influence in the international forums, Andrabi said: “ The diplomatic efforts and influence of Pakistan is so weak so weak that the UN is banning organisations like Jamat-u-Dawah and Falah-i-Insaniyat foundation These organisations work tirelessly for the welfare of the humanity and are always ready to help the oppressed people wherever needed. These organizations provide relief to oppressed people in Palestine, Iraq, Myanmar and other places.” “But it is unfortunate that under the influence of India and US, UN is putting sanctions on such organisations.” “I fail to understand that why is Pakistan not able to expose the Indian aggression and the terrorist activities of its forces to the world. Why is that Pakistan is not able to persuade the world that the Hindu organisations including RSS, Shiv Sena, Ram Sena , karmi sena , bajrangdal ,BJP and others, which are killing Muslims with impunity across the India, are terrorist organisations and get them banned,” she questioned. “Above all, the biggest weakness of Pakistan government is that it is not able to get the UN resolutions regarding Kashmir implemented on ground.” Andrbai said that to mark the January 5, the day UN passed the famous Kashmir resolution, the people of Jammu and Kashmir must pledge that they will continue the struggle against the illegal Indian occupation until this issue isn’t resolved as per these resolutions. “To struggle against this illegal occupation is our religious duty. We are Muslims and we want to live with Muslims and not with Brahmin India. As per teachings of Quran and the two nation theory , we are Pakistanis and Pakistan is ours.” And secondly, she added, the Pakistan government , army as well as all political parties must stand up collectively and play its role more effectively vis-à-vis Kashmir issue. She said that the Pakistan authorities should stop acting like pawns of infidels and should stop putting banning on the organisations like the JuD and Falah-i-Insaniyat. “You are becoming the pawns of the agencies of infidels; that is the resons the Muslims are being massacred and tortured everywhere. Please stop banning the organisations and people who are more Pakistani than the anyone else,” she added. Taking a dig at the UN, Andrabi said that because of the uselessness and hypocrisy of UN, its resolutions on Kashmir are yet to be implemented. “ 69 years have passed but the toothless UN is unable to do anything regarding the implementation of UN resolutions,” she added. She said that this issue came into being with the creation of Pakistan when the Indian sub-continent was divided into two parts. India illegally and forcibly occupied JK by sending its troops and since then this issue is lingering. “The Muslims of Jammu and Kashmir have been doing whatever they could to fight this illegal occupation. As many as 6.5 lakh people have sacrificed their lives, the women have lost everything, we are being killed maimed, jailed and the oppression continues. On January 6 in 1993, a whole locality was burnt down in Sopore in which dozens of people including small kids were charred to death. There are countless such massacres recorded in Kashmir’s brutal history,” she added.(KNO)
